Matupit, a village in Papua New Guinea, situated at the foot of the active volcano Tavurvur could be hell. But the 2,000 villagers refuse to leave, having found an unlikely source of revenue in the collection of scrubfowl eggs buried in the flanks of the volcano. Previously gardeners or fishermen, they are now volcano 'diggers'.
