Founded in 1993 as an independent publishing house specializing in cinema books, Editrice Il Castoro (Il Castoro publishing) is today a reference publisher of books for children and teenagers of all ages: fiction, illustrated, non-fiction, graphic novels, YA novels and New Adult.

In 2009, Il Castoro publishing (Milano) has published the book "Sembène Ousmane", under the direction of (a cura di) Thierno I. Dia, in collaboration with Alice Arecco, Annamaria Gallone, Alessandra Speciale, translated from French by Felicia Lustrì and Cinzia Quadrati.
