Altidor Gildas DOSSOU is a filmmaker, photojournalist and editor born on 22 January 1996 in Lokossa. After passing his Baccalauréat in 2015, he began studying journalism at the Ecole Nationale des Sciences et Techniques de l'Information et de la Communication, ENSTIC at the University of Abomey-Calavi in Benin, before turning to film. In 2017, he directed his very first documentary film: Xwlakô, trésor d'un sol. He has worked as cameraman and director of photography on several films, including Chocs by Amoureck HOUNLEBA, Le mirage de l'el dorado by Marzouk BANKOLE, Le jeton by Odilon ASSOU and Sachet by Eudon HOUESSOU. In 2018, Gildas DOSSOU returned to the film scene with two short films, a drama "Ni lui, ni moi", and a documentary "Art'iste". In 2019, he obtained his professional licence with the short documentary "ELEGBARA, la butte sacrée". In 2020, he directed "Tumeur", a short fiction film that he co-wrote with Dieu-donné TCHANI from TOGO. He later took part in the Duban talent and Durban Film Mart programmes in South Africa with his fiction film project "ASHA IBILE (notre identité)". In 2021, Gildas DOSSOU enrolled in the 1st year of his Master's degree and released a docu-fiction short film that he wrote and directed, "GÀN DↃ NŪ, le Gong a résonné".
