French Algerian writer.
Fatima Daas is a French author of Algerian origin.
Fatima Daas was born in 1995 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Paris District, France. Her parents, who came from Algeria 🇩🇿, settled in Clichy-sous-Bois, a small town in Seine-Saint-Denis, surrounded by a large family. She defines herself as an intersectional feminist.
She holds a Master's degree in literary creation from the University of Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis.
"La Petite Dernière", her first novel published in 2020, receives the 🏆 2020 Les Inrockuptibles Prize, first novel category. In 2021, the book is awarded 🏆 the Haus der Kulturen der Welt prize in Germany. It is now translated into nine languages and also brought to the screen by director Hafsia Herzi in an eponymous film nominated for the Palme d'Or and won 🏆 Best Actress Award 2025 for Nadia Melliti at the Cannes Film Festival 2025.
Her second novel,'Jouer le jeu', was published in 2025.
