Sarah Kayzike Birungi is a Uganda renown long time arts administrator. She is an educationist by profession and an artists by passion. She Went thorugh schools such as Kings College Buddo, Nyakasura Girls bfore joining Kyambogo University for her Bachelors degree in Eduction with Literature And later the University of Massachusetts, USA, for her Masters.
She is currently the Chairperson of Uganda Theatre Network, East African Theatre Institute, Uganda Chapter. She chaired the Opening Performance Ceremony Committee for CHOGM 2007 that was Directed by renown Director, Alex Mukulu. She was once the Chairperson, Board of Trustees, Uganda National Cultural Center (National theatre and Nommo Gallery) and Deputy Chairperson, East African Theatre Institute, Kenya, Tanzania & Ethiopia. She is National Facilitator, Life Skills for Basic Education, Ministry of Education and Sports. She was the Chairperson AIDS Drama (Min. of Education, School Health Education Project) between 1992-1994 and also participated in the famous FESTAC in 1977 (Lagos, Nigeria).

Edited and re-organized 'The Riddle', a play for AIDS Drama Competition for Primary Schools 1991
'Methods of teaching Poetry and their effects on performance in Literature in English in selected Schools in and around Kampala', as part of fulfillment of the requirements for Degree of Bachelor of Education.
Co – author, 'The Hydra'. A play for mobilizing the youth against AIDS.
Co-author, 'Food for thought' a play for World Food Day 1993.
Author of poems and one Act plays in the training kit to support Uganda Education Reform.
Writer of AIDS Drama Training Manual 1994.
She consults with a number of organizations including the Uganda National Commission for Unesco, Ministry of Education and Sports and Makerere University.
