Fine artist, Painter
Principal country concerned : Column : Fine arts

I am a painter and printmaker who was born in Rwanda.  I was first educated before I moved to South Africa to pursue a career in art. Whilst there I exhibited around the world for 14 years before moving to Uganda.

My work is about traditional African culture and rituals which are often hidden by modernisation. I am particuarly interested in the contrasting speeds of life in both the village and the city (the land of dreams). It is important for me to understand my roots and I think many other Africans can reflect on my work, it is also important to elevate our culture to a more global stage.
