Marion DESMARET is a French filmmaker based between Uganda, France and Germany. She started her career in Paris working for the European network ARTE before becoming an independent director. From working with large production teams to being a one-woman crew, Marion adapts to the circumstances, balancing personal work and TV projects. In 2022 in Uganda, she made a documentary about the Nyege Nyege Festival, the biggest festival for alternative music in East Africa and currently collaborates with their Kampala-based collective and record label to promote the Pan-African music and arts scene.
