PIRINHA is the story of a young woman's journey in search of herself and her past. On her journey, she encounters the'evil' creatures of Cape Verdean folklore that she feared as a child. But these encounters are softened by memories of time spent with her grandmother, who had a special knowledge of traditional medicine. PIRINHA is also a story of healing from childhood trauma, steeped in the cultural rituals of Cape Verde.
