BY Tendai Makura.
Sapes, the social science research organisation on southern Africa, has launched with this title its new Pan African Children's Book series. The aim is to provide culturally and gender sensitive books for children, and the stories will reflect positive themes and cultural images pertaining to the lives of Africans both on the continent and in the diaspora. This story, published in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Children's Literature Foundation, tells of how the villagers of Kufawaedza came to choose the crowing of the cock to wake them in the mornings.
