French Senegalese filmmaker and journalist.
Kalidou SY is a film director, screenwriter and journalist.
He is known for YAMBO OUOLOGUEM, LA BLESSURE - YAMBO OUOLOGUEM, BOUND TO VIOLENCE (2025).
Kalidou Sy is the son of Senegalese Fulani immigrants who arrived in France in 1967. He grew up in the Val d'Oise suburbs. Through the documentaries he creates, he strives to tell lesser-known stories. He has directed works on former Senegalese tirailleurs and the decolonization period, featuring testimonies from key figures of the era. He is also a journalist and correspondent.
