Nicolas Matos Ichaso was born in 1982. Currently he is based in Saint-Etienne. After many trips to Southeast Asia and Africa, he turned to visual anthropology, focusing his work on blacksmiths in Ethiopia. Meanwhile he also did an apprenticeship training in the ironworking trade, to then later join the Ardèche Image Documentary School in 2016 in Lussas. Incandescence des hyènes is his first documentary film.
