The Mango Patch Trust

Mango Patch is a company that runs on fair trade and ethical principles in the Rift Valley of Kenya. All the products are hand made by local women, many of who would otherwise be unemployed. Mango Patch aims to change the women's hand to mouth existence to a life of empowerment for them and the next generation.
Our ethos is really simple…we want to make beautiful homes. We want to make our home beautiful, your home beautiful and in the process try and create a home for some of the poorest people in Kenya. With this in mind we have set up a charity that makes textiles products for, you guessed it, the home.

We didn't just want to run another company that simply only cares about number one and makes loads of money at the expense of everyone below them, also we didn't want a charity that guilt tripped people into buying things that they didn't really like. We want a charity that makes the most up to date and in style products, that people would buy anyway for their home, but that has the best added bonus –it is helping people too.

We also do so many other things in the community including healthcare, childcare and our vision for the future is to set up a college to train people in textiles, ICT and business skills.
