The Book Fair is held annually towards the end of July and the beginning of August. The three-day long exhibition is held in the unique gardens of Harare, now recognised as Africa's book capital. The event comprises the exhibition itself plus the following events:

The Indaba

An International conference where topical issues on and developments in the African book and publishing industry are debated.

A forum for established and up and coming writers. It provides an opportunity for the aspiring writers to hone their writing skills, while established scribes can benefit from the exchange of new ideas and opportunities to provide mentorship.

The Copyright Workshop

The forum provides an opportunity for buyers and sellers to conduct business, in addition to sharing knowledge and experience in tackling problems and new insights into successful marketing and promotional techniques.
