From saturday 07 to sunday 08 june 2014

Times : 00:00
Principal country concerned : Column : Music, Fashion, Arts and crafts

The LaBa! Arts Festival 2014 – The city is our space wants to engage artists and communities to identify with their city and focus on their own innate resources – their histories, spaces, creative energies and talents. Cities are a part of the collective memory of societies transporting history, but through the constant and fast change of cities they also generate new history and open scopes of organising and intervention.

LaBa! Arts Festival 2014 will take place at 2 days in 2 spaces with 2 different approaches in order to respond to the need of sensitizing and involving the communities with art, but also to present and support the contemporary artistic production and creative industry of Kampala. Space 1: Kisementi Parking Lot – Saturday 7th June 2014. Kisementi parking lot will be the first stop over for LaBa! trying to focus on the urban and contemporary art movements in Kampala.

Artists will be working in and on different spaces in the area, exhibiting their works in relationship to the city… Space 2: Nsambya, Kabega Road – Sunday 8th June 2014.

The second day will be a Street Festival at Nsambya which will focus on the community and its environment. Through interactive projects artists will involve the community in different performances and art projects…
