"Decapitaed heads is a critique of the decadence of power and of Catholic culture in Latin America in a grotesque Surrealist and baroque language. The meaning is clear: it is the fall of a dictator. I decapitate traditional culture to the benefit of a counter-culture: it's neither Brecht nor Shakespeare, so that shocked a certain public. Some detected the influence of Buñuel and Fellini ? Perhaps, but this imagery existed from my first film onwards, while
I never did baroque and Surrealist aesthetics."
