Saba Douglas Hamilton looks at the elephants of Kenya's Samburu reserve.

Episode 1
The lives and loves of Africa's elephants are laid bare in the first of two programmes based in Kenya's Samburu reserve. Saba Douglas Hamilton, who grew up among Africa's elephants, is on home ground as she opens up their world. There is rivalry and passion as the biggest male in the park fights over a female, a baby elephant is washed away in a flooded river and an orphaned elephant is found starving, alone and in need of rescue.

Crippled elephant Babel encounters crocodiles in her struggle to survive, and we follow a newborn elephant through her first day of life.
