Fakau Bilo, a sexagenarian military man, receives a disturbing prophecy from Ma'Ndona, a seer: he has an appointment with Lufua, the angel of death, before sunrise. This announcement destabilizes him all the more since it had predicted, a few days earlier, an imminent promotion to the rank of general. When he confronts her, Ma'Ndona invokes the unfathomable mysteries of Vidi Mukulu, the Most High. But the events take a tragic turn: Lufua appears to fulfill the prophecy.
