Mariam, a young pregnant Malian woman, has fled to Burkina Faso to escape the ghosts of her past. There, she takes part in a choreographic workshop. The delicate story of a liberation through dance.

"I was five years old. I was 13 years old. I was 16." Mariam, from Fana, Mali, was sexually abused by a neighbour, then by her brother-in-law and her first cousin. She has kept from this last aggression, which she tried to escape by fighting, a stabbing pain in her shoulder, a traumatic after-effect that dancing both awakens and heals. For the young woman, now living in Burkina Faso, has found in physical expression a liberating refuge. Pregnant with her first child, she takes part in a workshop during which, with the benevolent support of the choreographer and the other dancers, she is led to confront her painful past.
