A movie filmed in 2001 that was lost just after the shooting. Meet a big family with members of different generations living in the same houch, in a small Tunisian village named Zaafrane. To them, as for many people living nearby, the desert has a strong magnetism. The family goes there every time they can and that's rare, because of poor resources. They're used to name it Kharja. It is for me an opportunity to film the family get prepared for the desert. Ten years later, a part of the movie (VHS working video) was recovered. I decided to finish the movie. I had to turn back in Tunisia at the end of 2012 to see how Zaafrane and the family evolved after a long time and a revolution. I had to face a very different reality...
