Tanzania's renowned entrepreneur and socilite Jesca Wilfredy Speaks about her interest in the music business.

Tanzania's music market has grown exponentially recently, and this is due to the large number of new musicians emerging in the arts. The growing number of musicians is due to the influence of the art of music growing around the world. Renowned socialite and self established entrepreneur Jesca Wilfredy has shown interest in the music business in Tanzania.

 

From one of the interview done in Dar es salaam with Jesca Wilfredy, told the reporters that, apart from her focusing on the clothing business that she owns for a while but she has always been a music lover and she used to sing since she was little.

 

According to her statement made during the interveiw she said, her interest in music will specifically be centered in uplifting new young musician specificaly female artist since they dont have huge platform to promote and push them to a stardome. With the raising number of musicians in the country, many who have exhibited pure talents have ended up losing hope and support from some of the stakeholders.

 

''I have decided to take this part of helping young upcoming musicians to get a platform where they can grow their talents and commercialize their work. It is notable that a number of talents have been lost due to lack of opportunities. This should not continue when we can do something,''said Jesca Wilfredy. 

 

Her dreams to invest in music has been with her for a long time and that she will be happy if she does. She added that she continues to be pleased with someof the music stakeholders increasingly in investing in Tanzanian music despite the commercial system of music which has not been in place, but she believes it is one of the steps in the development of the music and arts business in general.

 

When asked when she officially hopes to invest in music, she said she is currently adding more power to her business so as to increase income , then after achieving certain income goals, she will be in a good place to invest and setting up a record label that will oversee various musicians.

 

She also added  that it is possible for  to empower them especially the youth through investing in music since she believes in uplifting others especial the young talented female artist. 

 

Unlike many other socialites who have invested in music as artists, Jesca Wilfredy will be one of the few young socialite and entrepreneur joining music industry as investors.
