We are all part of the world. We all are exposed to images, to
definitions, to clichés carried by the collective consciousness.
Through the theme of this exhibition, photographers are invited to look at the world differently. Be it in our daily life or, in a larger aspect, beyond our borders. The Other World is not necessarily far from us. It can hide in details to which other eyes that those of photographers will not pay any attention. Seek for the Other World means to force ourselves to reconsider who we think we are. It means to address the preconceived ideas that we are carrying about ourselves,
and those that the world carries about us. It means rethinking the past in the light of the present, but it also means to look at the future, being opened to other futures. By revealing beauty where other would only see ugliness, revealing happiness and joy when other would only
see pain and sadness. In other words, by recreating a world at our own hand. A world that would not be that of the others. There are no limitations as for the subjects treated. What will be asked to the selected images will be, simply, to offer us the personal and subjective gaze thought which the authors view the world that surrounds them.
