Course Details


The course is designed to equip creative writers with the skills in writing short animation scripts. Each writer will be taught how to develop a script for a short animation. The participants will work with a team of animators to translate their scripts into actual animations.



Who is the program for?


The Course is targeting any writer who is interested in telling compressed stories through animation.

The training will take place from 3rd -14th August 2015

The Training will be at Goethe Zentrum Kampala Conference Room.



Trainers


The training will be facilitated by the Deborah Asiimwe. Deborah Asiimwe was born in Kiruhura, in South Western Uganda. She is an award winning playwright and performer, currently a writing fellow at AkademieSchloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany. Asiimwe received a B. A. in Theatre and Performing Arts from Makerere University and an M.F.A. in Writing for Performance from the California Institute of the Arts. Asiimwe's recent plays include Hmmm, Forgotten World, Cooking Oil, Appointment with gOD and Un-entitled. Asiimwe is a co-curator of the Kampala International Theatre Festival.



Fees


The fee is 50,000 UGX for the full 2 weeks of the training, to be paid prior to course beginning. Participants are expected to attend the whole period of the training and bring their own writing and production materials (Laptops, Note books, Pens).
