THE comedian behind Zviri Kumbonyatsofamba Sei jokes, Richard Mike Matimba - popularly known as Uncle Richie - said he was working on a pilot programme which will be presented to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) for approval very soon.

Uncle Richie said the programme was not only meant to entertain, but educate people on various aspects of life.

"I am working on a pilot programme for ZBC TV which will be presented to the Content Creation Unit for determination. It will adopt the name for my popular clip," he said.

He said the project would focus on "edutainment" and was optimistic that if approved, the programme would help increase his fan base.

"Its approval can also help increase my fans. However, if not accepted I will wait for another chance," he said.

Uncle Richie said releasing clips on a weekly basis was no longer possible since he was aiming at coming up with quality products.

"Releasing weekly can't be possible because I usually have a tight schedule and I also endeavour to produce quality products," he said, adding that he was doing videos upon request by different organisations.

He said last week he did one to commemorate the Apostolic Faith Mission's 100th anniversary.

Uncle Richie, who is also a music teacher at Dominican Covent, won the People's Choice Award at the National Arts Merit Awards this year.
