African Soul was formed in February 2009 by Ghanaian born, master drummer, dancer and singer Bortier Okoe. Our extended team is made up of professional performers and musicians from both African and Australian descent. African Soul facilitators and performers are energetic, enthusiastic and love making people happy.


African Soul tour Australia every year and runs four weeks cultural tour to Ghana West Africa.



African Soul, Hands on Rhythm create explosive and energetic, fully interactive shows and workshops including educational drumming programmes and events for Festivals, schools, communities and the health and corporate sectors and government and non-government projects.



Our aim is to bring West African music and dance to Australia and world-wide, promoting cultural awareness, unity, motivating and empowering participants through the use of the drum.
