AL24 News

AL24 News is a public Algerian continuous news satellite television channel launched on November 1, 2021. It is independent from EPTV and has offices in Algiers, Paris, Washington, Beijing and Moscow. It is directed by Salim Aggar.

The project, which saw the light of day in one year, was led by Ammar Belhimer, then Minister of Communication, with the aim of forging a soft power tool. It is launched on October 30, 2021 in Algiers, on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the outbreak of the War of Independence. The channel begins broadcasting on November 1, 2021 at midnight.

AL24 News signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian RT Arab channel on December 7, 2023. This agreement aims to facilitate the exchange of information and audiovisual programs between the two media, as well as to provide mutual assistance in the field of television broadcasting.

This new Algerian international news television channel was launched as part of strengthening Algeria's presence on the international media scene and maintaining its positions vis-à-vis regional and international causes. It broadcasts in Arabic, French and English.

AL24 News programming includes television news, debates, talk shows, documentaries and current affairs magazines including sports.
