The Ghana Association of visual Artists (GAVA) is an association which was incorporated under the laws of Ghana, in 1991.
The Association is situated in Ghana and has its headquarters at the Centre for National Culture, Accra. It is affiliated to the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture.

Membership is open to all Visual Artists in Ghana such as painters, interior decorators, sculptors/ carvers, weavers, potters etc. Non -Ghanaian artists also qualify to be full members of the Association upon introduction by a member of the Association.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To stimulate national interest and appreciation of Visual Arts.
2. To foster creativity amongst Ghanaians.
3. To assist and encourage the training of Visual Artists.
4. To develop, preserve and promote Visual Artists.
5. To co-operate with all national and international Visual Art bodies and organizations in the promotion of Visual Arts.
6. To act as the central advisory body to the Ghana National Commission on Culture on all matters relating to Visual Arts.
7. To provide a clearing house for creative, social and economic exchanges and also a focus for co-operation amongst visual artists.
8. To render legal, technical and general advice to members on fees, salaries and contracts.
9. May render legal assistance to members on matters relating to professional Practice.
