Anthony was born in Seoul, South Korea and then immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with his family in the early 1990s. After his mother enrolled him in a high school drama class with the hopes of helping him overcome his shyness and fear of public speaking, Anthony quickly discovered his passion for storytelling and pursued a career as an actor. He has since appeared in dozens of films, TV, theatre, and voice over projects over the course of nearly twenty years. Anthony co-founded and served as the artistic director of Blind Pig Theatre then later co-founded and co-curated Railtown Lab, an initiative designed to support the development of original theatre works. During that time, Anthony worked as an acting instructor at the esteemed Railtown Actors Studio as well as teaching the graduate program at the Vancouver Acting School. Anthony's first independent feature film, DAUGHTER (2019), premiered at the Vancouver IFF and had its international premiere at the São Paulo IFF. His latest feature film RICEBOY SLEEP (2022) had its world premiere at the Toronto IFF where it was awarded the prestigious Platform Prize. Since then, the film has gone on to win the Flash Forward Audience Award at Busan IFF, Best Actress Award at Marrakech IFF, Best Canadian Film and Audience Award at Vancouver IFF, along with several others.
