Born in Berlin, Germany. She received her training at Berlin's Freie Universität, in the USA and in Puerto Rico from 1963-72 and subsequently lectured at the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies at the Freie Universität and at Alice Solomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin. In 1974 she was a co-founder of the Feminist Women's Health Centre in Berlin, the first of its kind in Germany. She co-founded the Orlanda Women's Press Berlin in the same year.

Lehrte am John-F.-Kennedy-Institut für Nordamerika studien der FU Berlin und an der Alice Salo mon Hochschule, Berlin. Gehörte 1974 zu den Grün derinnen des Frauengesund - heits zentrums Berlin, der ersten Einrichtung dieser Art in Deutschland. Im selben Jahr Mitbegründerin den Orlanda Frauenverlags.
