French Producer.

For the past 15 years, François BERTRAND has run Camera Lucida, an independent production company whose objective is to produce documentary films, short-films and feature-length movies in collaboration with authors, directors and artists. There is no predefined editorial line, but a strong desire to focus on new forms and define new ways of working creatively. He is now one of five producers working for Camera Lucida.

His productions focus on cultural themes and he has created important links with various art institutions, from Arte France and Stan Neumann's "La vie cachée des œuvres" and "Photo" collections - jointly produced with the Louvre and the Centre Pompidou respectively - to "Un automne musicale à Versailles" by Olivier Simonnet, jointly produced with the Chateau of Versailles and the CMBV (Versailles Baroque music center). He has produced the latest films by Peter Knapp for France Télévision - the "devices which have seen you" collection and the film "Van Gogh, derniers jours à Auvers"

In cinema, he has produced and directed "Van Gogh: Brush with Genius", the first Imax® film about art, in partnership with the Musée d'Orsay and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. The film has won several major prizes, including Best Film at the GSCA (Giant screen cinema association) awards, won for the first time by a European producer.

This year he has also produced, jointly with Adeline Lecallier and Lazennec & Associés, "Nuit Bleue", the first fiction film by Ange Leccia, as well as the first documentary film by Claude Miller, "Marching band", jointly with Annie Miller and Films de la Boissière.
