Kirill Serebrennikov, born in 1969, is a Russian director and filmmaker. He has directed texts by Gorky, Ovid, Shakespeare and Pushkin, and has written operas for the Bolshoi and in Europe. He was as much present at the Cannes Festival with The Disciple (2016), Leto (2018) and Petrov's Fever (2021) as at the Avignon Festival with Les Idiots (2015), Les Âmes mortes (2016) and Outside (2019). "Tchaikovsky's Wife" has been selected in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival, 2022.
