Arguably one of the most exciting Ugandan actors of his generation, Mathew Nabwiso went through Namasagali College, a top performing arts school in Uganda where he acquired the mentorship as an artist in the mid 1990s. After auditioning for his first feature film Battle of the Souls in 2006 Nabwiso went through an actors' training at Bish Films under Matt Bish the creative Director at Bish Films.

On the Ugandan showbiz scene, Nabwiso wears so many hats as a lead vocalist for a World Music band (Soul Beat Africa), as an Auditions judge for one of East Africa's most popular musical show (Tusker project fame) and as an advertising model. However, it is his bankable acting talent, most especially as Gilo in the popular Ugandan campus TV series The Hostel that he is remarkably known for.

His body of acting work includes a couple of feature length films like The Battle of the Souls (2006), State Research Bureau (2010) and The Pardon (2011), He has also as the leading man in short films like Perfect Symmetry (2010) and A Good Catholic Girl for which he has garnered an AMVCA Award.
