Olivier Sagne has worked for almost ten years as an assistant director on television and film sets. He gained solid experience behind the scenes of films such as Antonin Peretjatko's "La loi de la jungle", Albert Dupontel's "Au revoir là haut" and Jean-François Richet's "L'empereur de Paris".
His first self-produced film was noticed by a journalist from Cahiers du Cinéma during the Cinamazonia Festival. Described as "promising", his life in a working-class neighbourhood of Guyana, his Haitian origins and his imagination converge in the portrait of "Lovena", a socially committed work.
