Born in 1966 in Béni-Zid (Algeria), Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche came to France in 1968. He grew up in the Bosquet projects in Montfermeil, outside Paris. After studying social sciences, he founded SARRAZINK PRODUCTIONS in 1999 and directed Wesh wesh, qu'est-ce qui se passe ? in 2002, which received the Louis Delluc prize and the Grand Prize of the Berlin New Cinema Forum. In 2006, he made BLED NUMBER ONE (Back Home) and received the Cannes Film Festival Youth Prize. Dernier Maquis (2010) is his third feature.

Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche nasceu na Argélia em 1966, mas se mudou para França aos dois anos. Criou em 1999 sua produtora Sarrazinc Productions e realizou seu primeiro longa WESH WESH em 2002, BLED NUMBER ONE (Back Home) en 2006, DERNIER MAQUIS (O Último Reduto) em 2010 é LES CHANTS DE MANDRIN em 2011.
