South African Producer, Visual Effects Producer, Director, Writer, Editor, Second Unit Director or Assistant Director.

Simon has collaborated, creatively, technically, commercially and personally with professionals all over the world in a wide range of disciplines and his broad skill set has made him a very worthy collaborator. His self-taught visual effects skills strategically armed him and empowered him as a filmmaker.

These skills plus the core technology Simon developed with US based companies, placed him in the unique position of implementing, for the first time anywhere in the world, new breakthrough film technology which was used on his first feature film Spoon which he wrote, directed and produced with his business partner of 14 years Sharlto Copley. The camera technology known as the Si-2K was subsequently used by Danny Boyle on Slumdog Millionaire which received an Oscar for cinematography.

Simon is an innovator and an ideas driven artist with a clear vision of what he wants to achieve with his life as a filmmaker. He continues to innovate in all sectors of the film industry so that he can make the films he wants to make without being constricted.
