The Little Theatre was built on lands purchased from the Government of Jamaica with funds raised by the annual Pantomimes, and supplemented from donations from the public over the years. Founded by Greta and Henry Fowler, in September of 1961, the theatre opened its doors and has remained open since. Over the years, various adjustments have been made to the structure bringing it into the twenty first century.
The complex includes the Little Theatre, a fully functioning theatre with fly tower and the smaller facility The Little-Little Theatre, a studio-style performing space.
It is the home of the National Dance Theatre Company whose studios and office are located on the premises, and the Pantomime Company the ensemble which performs the annual LTM Pantomimes.
