Biography
I studied International Policy at the University of Trieste-Italy, and got my degree in 1994 in Political Economy of Socialist Countries, written thanks to a scholarship at the Academy of the Sciences in La Habana-Cuba.
In 1995 I specialized in International Risk Management at the
University of Padova and entered the Italian Insurance Brokers List.
In 1996 my personal interests in cinema and theatre led me to work in the production of several international theatre festivals in Rome, as artistic director's assistant.
In 1998 I founded "Electra", a cultural association who produced in Trieste, for 4 years, a music and theatre urban festival. In the same period I worked in theatre as assistant director, and started to conceive and direct short documentaries: "Trieste, a Mediterranean port through the eyes of the novelist Claudio Magris" and "Magic and masks of Sardinia", both documentaries were broadcasted by World Wide Television News-UK.
As a documentary author and director I am realizing now a project based on the life of Pietro Savorgnan di Brazza', an Italian explorer of the XIX century who gave the name to the present capital of Congo: Brazzaville:
As video-maker I filmed and directed television programmes for RAI SAT ART, RAI SAT SHOW, STREAM. I filmed for Greenpeace, for festivals and shows: "Mittelfest" -festival of theatre and music of Eastern Europe- Udine, "Afoxe Loni" - concert and performance of the Brazilian percussionist Dudu Tucci- Milano, "Capo Horn" - Lorenzo Jovanotti's tour.
I was in charge of filming and editing web-videos for "The interactive round tour of the world-www.nomadcommunity.com", a net-project sponsored by Vodafone SpA and held in South Africa, Indonesia, Australia and Patagonia.
I took part in several cultural cooperation projects: video-maker for Defensa Por Los Ninos Internacional, non governamental organization based in Bogotà-Columbia, video-teacher for children in the island of Chiloé-Chile, author of audio-visual projects for the Cinema Production Centre of Ramallah-Palestine.
In 2003 I wrote and directed a fiction short-film in Palestine - "Ecoute la mer", produced by Dragon Films-Brussels, broadcasted by Canal + Belgique, and selected in several international film festivals: Aix-en-Provence, Reus-Barcelona, Saint Benoit, Granada, Amiens, Paris, etc.
I worked as assistant director, fixer and researcher in several documentaries and docu-dramas produced by international broadcasters. Among them: "The Italian Terrorism during the Seventies" (WDR Germany), "The first century of the Roman Empire" (PBS USA), "John meets Paul" (ITV-UK), "Private lives of Pompeii" (Channel 4-UK), "Nicholas II, the last Czar" (Discovery Channel- UK). I have been news producer in different occasions, especially in cultural programs filmed in Italy for the public German television ARD.
My interest in the relationship between video and theatre, brought me to collaborate as video-designer to different dance performances in Italy and Germany. I realized video-scenographies for the Israeli coreographer Avi Kaiser, such as "Piazza figure due", sponsored by the Teatri Uniti di Reggio Emilia. I am actually working on the development of an urban scape for the sailing event "Barcolana" in Trieste - Italy
