Joshua bee Alafia started making films in high school and graduated from the university of Carolina at Santa Cruz with a BA in cinematography in 1995. He has directed more than 10 documentaries among which "The road to Sao Tome"; "Havan Habibi". He has a real committment for youth film and has worked with youth film fellows program since 2004 (Tribeca film Institute). He teaches cinematography at the Harlem School of Arts.
