Galerie Donald Browne, situated on the fifth floor of the Belgo Building, opened its doors in August 2006.
Galerie Donald Browne is devoted exclusively to new contemporary art. Donald Browne, the director of the gallery, will present works by artists that inspire, provoke, astound and defy. "Art mirrors the culture from within, a simulacra. Art requires and inspires creative thinking. Contemporary art represents us and will define our epoch in the future.
It is food for thought, a stimulant for the curious and incites questions about today's society".
The gallery intends to share its passion with its clients and contemporary art-lovers. Focusing primarily on Quebec based artists and their promotion throughout Canada, the gallery will embrace the following conceptual-based mediums: photography, painting and installation and represent both established senior artists as well as young emerging creators.
