In recent years, Burkina Faso is undergoing a wave of robberies on the roads, in the markets, and in people's homes. Self-defense groups like the Koglweogo have specialized in tracking down criminals. While many approve and support these groups, others denounce their methods that operate outside the law. After the screening, a discussion will led by Professor Sten Hagberg, who has been doing anthropological research in Burkina Faso since 1988. Recently, he has particularly analyzed security from below and the rule of law among self-defense movements in Burkina Faso and Mali.
