This documentary relates the evolution of music in the south of Africa, from its origins until the return of exiles such as Hugh Maskela to South Africa. It brings up tribal dances, wind instruments and primitive percussions, gospel choirs, then the development of urban music by immigrants workers. It goes on with disco jazz ("bubblegum music"), Mbaqanga and modern jazz.
